Dear Minister
OVERHEAD POWERLINES AND HEALTH
We refer to our enclosed letter to Sir Walter Bodmer, Chairman of NRPB regarding a serious error in their recent annual report on radiological protection.
You as Health Minister should be concerned that you have a competent advisory board on radiological protection which you obviously do not . We the public expect a competent performance from both our own MP’s and cabinet Ministers on all matters.
You clearly are not doing this and we suggest you put matters right while you possibly still have some credibility in some areas of public health issues. We would ask that you reply to explain to us how you intend to correct what is obviously a most unsatisfactory situation.
We would also like to take a further opportunity before we close, to remind you that the month of October is the Breast Cancer awareness period. Perhaps you should make it your priority contribution to examine the study and reported ineffectiveness of the Tamoxifen drug when taken in the proximity of powerlines. For our part we will be concentrating on public awareness, of all issues, in the absence of Government concerns generally.
We await your reply
Yours sincerely
